The following is a message from the organizers.

[Creating forests within the city]

Connect with nature in your own space.

----

I longed for a beautiful ocean.

When I was born, Japan was a country rife with pollution.

My dream was for Japan to one day become an environmentally advanced country.

Half a century has passed, and finally, I can see the vision of that becoming a reality.

And in an exciting way!

The regeneration of the earth.

This is an environmental restoration method discovered by landscape architect Tomonori Yano through many years of observation and repeated practice.

With the sensibilities of the Japanese people, who have had a close relationship with nature, they gently lend a helping hand and encourage the regeneration of the earth.

...That's the impression I get from seeing how they work.

With even small human intervention, nature breathes new life and regains its self-purifying properties. That's why small acts of care in your own space can have a lasting impact on the sea and the mountains.

There are workshops on land regeneration that anyone can participate in being held all over Japan.

I am thrilled to see this country, and this planet, gradually regaining its original beauty.

And finally, I'm going to be holding a workshop in my own garden.

It's just an ordinary garden in a residential area.

The feeling of excitement as the hand placed here connects to the beautiful sea.

If this sounds interesting to you, please come and experience it for yourself.
